Our StoryCarlos started cutting clear ice with a chisel and hammer for his first bar, The Treasury (FiDi) in 2017. Word got out to bars like PCH and ABV, who soon after started placing orders, and Deepwater Ice Co. was born.
Today, all the production and cutting magic happens at the DWIC shop in the famed American Industrial Center, in the sunny Dog Patch neighborhood of San Francisco.
Meet Carlos
Deepwater Ice Co. Owner/Operator, Carlos Yturria, has been a player in the San Francisco bar game in various roles for decades, celebrated as a bartender, bar manager, and bar owner through the many iterations of the City. Carlos has a true love and appreciation for the craft of all aspects of the bar/restaurant/culinary arts.
The Team
The small and intimate Deepwater team is composed of passionate barmen/artists. Collectively, the ice is crafted by musicians, artists, and engineers who understand the needs of the bar.
